Convert Cassettes to CDs

Let me get this straight - The only way to preserve your cassette tapes is recording their music in your computer and burn an Audio CD/ MP3 CD. It is really easy and you can do it yourself in a professional way.

Here is what you need to Convert Audio Cassette To CD:

1. A cassette tape recording software.
2. A cassette player to play the audio tapes.
3. RCA To Stereo or Stereo to Stereo cable (In most cases)
4. A computer with a working sound card (Almost all computers have this as nowadays all motherboards have an on-board sound card)

That's all you need. Were you expecting more? I'm sorry to disappoint.

Now I'll tell you basically how it works. You connect cassette players output to your computer's input and record it. That's it! Does it sound easy? Indeed It is.

Please follow these steps to record/convert audio cassette tapes to CD using your computer:-

1. Please look at the back side of your computer and you'll see three jacks colored pink, green and blue and your computer should have stereo jacks.

Now look at output jacks of your tape player and it is very likely that It should also have stereo jacks. Now you need to take a Stereo To Stereo cable and connect output of tape player into blue jack (Line In) jack on the back side of your computer. If your computer or tape player have RCA jacks, then you'll need an appropriate cable accordingly. If you connect both equipments (Tape Player and Computer) properly, you've done half of the work.

2. Run the recording software and select "Line In" recording source and start recording. Make sure that you have started playback in your cassette tape player. Now the software will record cassette players output in digital quality.

3. After recording, you can edit the file to remove unwanted segments from the recording. You can also apply effects to recorded file to enhance the quality.

4. Now you are ready to burn a CD. Please select all the recorded files and you can burn an Audio CD or you can also burn a MP3 CD according to your desire.

This Audio CD will play in your car, home or any other Audio CD/DVD Player without any problems. We hope you have understood the basics of converting cassette tapes to CDs.
